Terms of Service

Last updated: July 11, 2026 · Beta program

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the JurisLit platform — including JurisDiscovery, JurisReview, JurisCloud, and JurisTrial (together, the "Service") — provided by Island Legal Technologies, Inc. ("ILT," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you and the organization you represent ("Customer," "you") agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

JurisLit is a litigation-support platform for processing discovery materials, reviewing documents, preparing cases, and presenting at trial. The Service is provided to law firms, legal departments, and litigation professionals for use in their own matters.

ILT is a technology provider, not a law firm. Nothing in the Service constitutes legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is created between ILT and any user or party to a matter.

2. Accounts and Seats

3. Trials, Subscriptions, and Billing

4. Customer Data

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to access another customer's data or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without written authorization; (c) resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties outside your organization except as the collaboration features expressly allow; (d) reverse engineer or copy the Service or its components; (e) interfere with the integrity or performance of the Service; or (f) use automated means to create accounts or send abusive traffic.

6. Beta Program

The Service is currently offered as a beta. Features may change, and occasional interruptions or defects are possible. We strongly recommend retaining independent copies of source materials you upload during the beta. Feedback you provide about the Service may be used by ILT without restriction or obligation.

7. Availability, Support, and Modifications

We work to keep the Service available and performant but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may modify, add, or discontinue features. Support is provided by email and through in-application reporting during the beta.

8. Data Export, Retention, and Deletion

You may export your data (including productions and native files) using the Service's export features at any time during an active subscription or trial. After termination or cancellation, we retain Customer Data for 30 days so you can subscribe again or request an export, after which it is scheduled for deletion from active systems. Backup copies are deleted in the ordinary course of backup rotation.

9. Intellectual Property

ILT and its licensors own the Service, including all software, interfaces, and documentation. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service during your subscription. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ILT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACCURACY AND COMPLETENESS OF ANY WORK PRODUCT, PRODUCTION, OR FILING PREPARED USING THE SERVICE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER PARTY WILL BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE. ILT'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IN ANY 12-MONTH PERIOD WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THAT PERIOD (OR US $100 IF YOU PAID NOTHING). THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY TO A PARTY'S BREACH OF CONFIDENTIALITY OBLIGATIONS OR TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.

12. Indemnification

You will defend and indemnify ILT against third-party claims arising from Customer Data or your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law. ILT will defend and indemnify you against third-party claims that the Service, as provided by ILT, infringes their intellectual-property rights.

13. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms (including non-payment) after reasonable notice where practicable, or immediately where necessary to protect the Service or other customers. You may terminate at any time by cancelling your subscription. Sections 4, 8, and 9–15 survive termination.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or in the Service at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The parties will first attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute informally; unresolved disputes will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Wyoming, and each party consents to their jurisdiction.
